I tried on 10 boots you miiight need for fall (plus, how I'm styling them - no skinny jeans in sight)
Even I’m surprised by the style I ended up loving/buying
Trying on boots in a store can be one of those deeply humbling experiences. You’re often wriggling and squirming, desperately attempting to get them on, or waving frantically for a salesperson to help you escape. It’s an ordeal that I’ve come to prefer tackling in the comfort of my own home. The only hitch? To curate a stellar selection of the season’s best—spanning a range of prices, calf sizes, and heights—my office has turned into an impromptu boot emporium. There are boxes everywhere, a chaotic mountain of options I tried on and then documented which pairs I liked most. So, read on to discover the ten boots I tested and the surprising winners I decided to keep.
Knee-High Pointed-Toe Boots: Anthropologie ($260)
Thoughts: If you want to upgrade your wardrobe with one silhouette, this polished, simple black boot should be a top contender. It hits at a nice spot on the leg with a sophisticated heel (that’s very walkable) and elongates without crossing into the realm of the witchy. They slouch ever-so-slightly, but not in a bad way, and come in six colors.
Comfort Rating (1-10): 8.5
How hard to get into/out of: Easy
