3 pieces that upgraded my summer wardrobe
Including a sheer blouse, a curve-friendly maxi skirt, and the comfiest, butter yellow sandals

Most of my summer basics are already in rotation: linen sets, simple tanks, white tees. So now I’m looking for the fun stuff. A blouse that feels special enough for a night out (because how do I only own button-downs?), sandals that actually add something, and pants that aren’t jeans but still feel like me. Here’s what I’ve got my eye on:
Flip-flops (heel or flat)
Lacy, flowy, bohemian-style blouses
Pants (see note above) with a different cut or detail (barrel? cargo? satin?)
Strappy sandal with kitten heel
Shells Shells Shells
Sleek, ‘90s-inspired bag
Neutral dresses that can be work day-to-dinner
Candy colors
Over my birthday weekend, my mom and I went into Nordstrom, and I tried on nearly every sandal in the store. My shoe lineup has been painfully neutral, but when I slipped into this pale yellow pair (of course, I considered the black too, they’re that good), I was sold. We didn’t get around to trying on clothes (sushi lunch took precedence), so we pivoted to far lazier online shopping in sweats, later that night. Here are a few of the things I bought!
The early 2000s boho revival is having a moment, and I’m not mad about it. I saw this shirt and immediately assumed it was Chloé. It wasn’t. It was Reformation, which in girl math terms meant it was a complete steal. I also added these pants to my closet, which my mom promptly bought after I texted her this picture.
This shade of red is *everything* and fits perfectly in my color palette. Most linen skirts aren’t forgiving at the waist, but this one has just enough stretch to make it ideal for those after-summer meals that always include ice cream.
On the left, a slinky, relaxed shift that instantly made me feel expensive the moment I slipped it on. On the right, a Toteme-inspired dress with a deep but tasteful V, ruching at the waist, and a seriously chic taupe-green shade. Also, this bag! It comes in a bunch of colors, but the black is just so good.
With its hint of nautical charm, this dress feels like the perfect match for natural waves, glowing skin, a straw bag, and slinky slides, the vibe I imagine for wandering farmers markets in the South of France.
And I put together a few other summer outfit ideas below…

I got my colors analyzed and it felt like an intervention
In January, G and I had our colors analyzed. The idea was to make getting dressed easier. Less guesswork, more clarity. I imagined walking out with a new sense of direction, knowing exactly what worked, what to let go of, and why.
Style tweaks that changed how I dress
I shared some of my takeaways after getting my colors analyzed in last week’s newsletter, which was both revelatory and slightly disheartening. I learned that strong autumn shades flatter me most, which sounds fine, unless you’ve spent a decade+ building an identity around blush pinks and bright whites. Needless to say, the overall experience led me to a better understanding of how my style has evolved and laid the groundwork for a new approach to what I purchase, how to balance shades and tones, while not eliminating my love of those signature pastels.
Ok those yellow sandals are getting added to my carted wishlist immediately - so good. 😍
Ok the first outfit is SO GOOD
