Unlike other times of the year, I’d prefer to fast-forward through the end of summer. The carefree, lazy days are behind us, and there’s nothing enjoyable about buying a sweater you won’t be able to wear for several months. Nonetheless, I’ve shared some of my recent transitional outfits, things comfortable enough to wear on the hottest days, and when the air conditioning is turned to “frigid.”

This outfit is a hodgepodge of several fixations, namely boxer shorts, jeweled flats, and a simple monogrammed tote. It’s giving Carrie Bradshaw goes to summer camp.
Never underestimate the versatility of a white linen top. This was the MVP for my trip too Italy and looks good with everything.

I liked the proportions of this outfit - a short skirt and billowy top that feels casual (hi, sweat-slicked hair!) but still pulled together with a sparkly kitten heel.

Anytime I’m feeling stuck, I start with a simple base layer: white tank, black shorts - and build from there. The light jacket makes it feel work-appropriate (at least for a casual office) and the straw bag in a darker color hints at the upcoming season.
An oversized button-down has become a wardrobe workhorse, over bikinis by the beach, tucked into shorts, and thrown on over an outfit to add some balance.
Unclear why it took me so long to purchase a linen set, as I’ve been wearing them as separates all summer, and I especially love the effect of a pale sage suit instead of a dress.

I’d been looking for wide-legged barrel denim over the past month until I realized I could get a similar look by cuffing jeans I already owned. I often try to offset baggier items with something more streamlined, but in this case, I liked the more androgynous vibe.
I always enjoy reading about people’s best purchases, so here are some of mine from the last couple of months:
