Something about this time of year feels so full of promise. The days are warmer, longer, and I’m relieved to put my oversized coats away for a while. In other words, I’m READY FOR SPRING: pink cheeks, air-dried hair, flowy sets, pedicured toes and glossy sandals.
Last week, on a rainy day, I wandered into Nordstrom to remind myself that a new season was just around the corner. Their online selection is always on point, but there’s something comforting about shopping in-store - finding inspiration, touching fabrics, and trying things on in a dressing room. Plus, they have everything you need to look cute without actually trying, which is basically my life motto.
I always keep wishlists on my phone for the items I want. This helps me stay organized and avoid buying unnecessary items.
Here are some things I tried on during a recent trip to Nordstrom.
The first piece I grabbed was a linen jacket in a butter yellow, one of my favorite colors this season. I like how this one is lightweight for spring and would make a great transitional piece over denim or as an offset to a sweet dress with mules.
I haven’t stopped thinking about this sleek set in bronzey brown. I don’t have any weddings on the calendar, but I’d wear this set with a minimalist, barely-there sandal if I did. With its nipped waist, the top has a simple but compelling shape, and the skirt, which hugs in all the right places, looks excellent together but would also look just as good as separates.
I’ve been on the oversized blazer train for a while, but this one's shape feels decidedly more elevated, with its hidden buttons and flawless tailoring. I’d wear this with linen pants, maxi skirts, and vintage denim.
As for shoes, their selection is impeccable, with gorgeous neutral flats (the Toteme ballerinas and Manolo sandals are even better irl), candy-colored heels, and a pair of snakeskin mules that look far more expensive than their price tag.

At the start of each season, I like to create mood boards and wishlists (see above) to get a sense of the styles I like most. Below, I put together three looks: one for a casual Sunday (when you still want to feel pulled together), a more elevated one for when it gets warmer, and a monochromatic outfit for evening with an unexpected pop of color.

AMA: Why we chose to have an only child.
Back in the day, I had a series on cupcakes and cashmere called "Ask Emily," where I answered your most frequently asked questions in one rambling video. It was always interesting to know what people were curious about. Though I've tried to host AMAs on Instagram, there's something about a longer format that feels much more conversational and personal. So, let's get into it!
My list of small wins & little thrills
Last night, G and I were watching Love Is Blind while I peeled an orange. At first, I was doing it absentmindedly, but then I looked down and realized I’d managed to peel it all in one smooth strip. And for some bizarre reason, this simple feat sent a rush of inexplicable excitement through me, taking me straight back to my childhood when peeling an orange in one go was the ultimate flex: a tiny, unspoken victory you’d casually flaunt at recess, like currency among friends.
Love to see what you’re shopping for and how you would style things! Enjoyed this post a lot!
loveeee that loulou set!
