My obsession with chocolate brown, the bra that disappears under tees, and the satin slides I can't stop wearing
A September roundup of my most "forward-worthy" things
Forward-worthy things I've bought recently, mostly in chocolate brown.
Brown cardigan, $178 (M). Last weekend, my friend showed up to our Sunday game of Mahjong in a chocolate brown cardigan that looked so expensive I didn’t bother asking where it was from. I assumed it was one of the designer pieces in her closet as the attention to detail, from the piping down the front to the quality of the cashmere, felt luxe. But to my surprise, it was Madewell, and she’d bought it while on a recent trip to New York when the weather unexpectedly turned cold. After trying hers on for size (the Medium was perfect), I immediately put the sweater into my cart only to be distracted by several other pieces online, so I opted to go straight to the store instead. The cardigan comes in three colors - a light mint green, navy, and heather oat, but the contrasting buttons made them look far less high-end. They offer a nice v-neck option in the same molasses shade, which I didn't get, but I might consider it if it eventually comes in black because the limit apparently exists for how many brown pieces I can own.
